The digital archive “Timaeus and Its Legacy” is an output of PROTEUS Paradoxes and Metaphors of Time in Early Universe(s) (ERC-2017-STG – Grant n. 758145, available at http://www.proteus-pmte.eu/). In exploring the legacy of Plato’s Timaeus in a wide array of epochs, disciplines, languages and currents of thought, the archive’s overarching aim is to investigate Timaeus’ impact throughout the history of Western culture. Conceived of as an interactive virtual environment, the archive not only makes available more than 490 sources, but also calls for an active involvement of the scientific community by means of a real-time forum (https://www.timaeuslegacy.live/) and chat.
