Description

This voluminous commentary In Platonis Timaeum (eighteen books) is the most important writing published by the Italian Paolo Beni of Gubbio (1553-1635). The Jesuit philosopher discusses therein Plato’s cosmological ideas on the ground of Galileo’s astronomical discoveries. The manuscript of the commentary is preserved in the Vatican Archives (Archivio Beni II, MSS. 98-108).
