Description

The Greek-Latin Bipontine edition of Plato’s works was printed in Germany (Zweibrücken), in eleven volumes, during the second half of the eighteenth century (1782-1787). It includes Stephanus’ Greek edition and Ficino’s Latin translation of Plato’s writings. It was an important reference to many German philosophers, from Kant to Schelling, up to the publication of Schleiermacher’s German edition of Plato’s Werke (1804-1828).
